5/6 Interview of Djokovic ahead of Madrid 2019

Interviewer:

well no but welcome back to Madrid and what sort of emotions are stirred in your head after coming back here is a two-time former champion.

Novak Djokovic:
well I try to obviously refresh those memories from 11 and 16 when I won this tournament but other than that I had some finals and semi finals and some good results here.
but you know this tournament is played in conditions are quite different from all the other clay court events.
high altitude(標高が高い) which actually affects the play a lot both flies through the air if you have a big serve that's quite big advantage here, I think so, and puts a lot of pressure on your opponent, not easy to return. but you know as I said I had quite a few(かなりの数の) good years here in the past and hopefully I can kind of(だいたいは) start it off on a positive note.

Interviewer:
now today is a special day, a landmark day, for you marking 250 weeks as world number one. what does that mean to you that statistic and how difficult is it to achieve that.

Novak Djokovic:
well I mean it's a great achievement and I'm obviously very proud of I'm very grateful to to have that experience in you know an opportunity to make the history of the sport that I love.
and it inspires me to keep going and motivates me to try to get more weeks and reach the guys that are in front of course I would like I would say that it wasn't a goal, of course it is you know making a history of this sport is an honor and it's a huge motivation.

Interviewer:
and another special feat that is a possibility is another nollie slam I'm building towards the French Open.
are you looking that far ahead and plot these clay court preparations.

Novak Djokovic:
well you know I've been in this particular position in 2016 when I managed to secure four slams in a row.
and I remember that I've personally of course there was a lot of pressure and expectations from around but personnel also put additional pressure that I feel like I I don't want to imposing myself this time.
there is already a big you know anticipation for that from my side and from everyone else, of course.
but I want to try to build my form you know I'm still you know I don't feel like I'm still playing at my best on clay.
I still feel I have you know a couple more steps to get to that level.
but you know that's how it's been for many years and of course this kind of surface requires a lot of time on the court and patience and so hopefully I can have two good tournaments in Madrid and Roman and great lead-up to Paris.
