Interviewer:

Roger, Congratulations. Tell me about the first game you know first time playing an opponent. Did you get a lot of work in that first game?

Roger Federer:

Yeah, I think the first game definitely helped me a little bit of, to get bit of, a read on his serve because I know he's got a nice swinger, a nice kicker. It's got a real elastic arm. So I think it was a good first game for me and I play really good today not that simple to come out and play good against the lefty right away. But it worked tonight and I needed it because Denis (Shapovalov) is a great player already and he will be even better in the future.

Interviewer:

Did you get a little annoyed with yourself that you didn't break that first game but then all of a sudden you've made some adjustments quickly and jumped on him.

Roger Federer:

No. I still took it as a positive you know that I actually came out of the blocks well. Then I also protected my serve after that 1-1 felt like I was maybe a bit closer but I know it doesn't mean much but the feelings sometimes is crucial to and like you said I did some minor adjustments may be knowing when to come over when to chip and how to play off the baseline so I think it wa quite maybe a tactical match by me I'm not sure but I'm happy I was able to play in variation today and I had to because he's got the power obviously.

Interviewer:

Now you're considered you know you've been around for a bit do you get a little more extra pep(元気) in your step when you're playing these teenagers?

Roger Federer:

Yeah, Some extent I told my daughters before I walked out tonight that he was even born yet when I actually played on the Pro Tour already nothing so they're like what hold on a second I did the calculation and they're like so this guy's really young I was like I'm really old but it's all good and it definitely is an extra pep, yeah, no doubt about it.

Interviewer:

You're into your fifth Miami final. Do you know how many finals you've been in one thouthand.

Roger Federer:

Uh, No. but I say forty maybe, forty-five, fifty. I'm not sure.

Interviewer:

Correct on the third guess. It will be fifty.

Roger Federer:

OK. Well good I hope I better win it so that'd be nice.

Interviewer:

All right. What do you expecing from the big man John Isner. It's been a while since you played him an it's not a teenager's it's fellow guy in the thirtys.

Roger Federer:

Well I know what to expect that he will not miss may serves. He's got an amazing serve. One of the best in the game forever so it's really hard to play against him, save match point. The last time I played against him at the Labor cup so that was tough and big fan of his you know he's got actually really enjoyed watching his play I know some guys.

Interviewer:

Don't you like you enjoy watching hi player?

Roger Federer:

I love it I honestly love big servers to watch them if they're gonna ace every second or third point for me that's exciting because it's like penalty shootout in soccer and it's just in tennis. So I actully quite enjoy it so for me I'll be the goalie(= Goalkeeper) you know on Sunday I'll try my very best and try to get many balls back as possible just hopefully we'll have a good match I'm excitd to play by John. Because he had it really had a tough match against Felix(Auger-Aliassime) today that was that was awesome performance by him.

Interviewr:

I'm gonna think about you as the goalie wearing the different color jersey(ジャージ) on your team. Good luck on Sunday. Moving on to the final, Foger Federer.
