Interviewer:
Roger, Unbelievable performance what's it like when you get a break in the first game versus a huge big server.
Federer:
I mean that is like a dream starts you know.
You can get as a player just relaxes your nerves and after that if you can hold your next game and go up 2-0 you know.
You're in the match yeah the guy isn't and it's gonna require something special from the opponent to come back and maybe I broke too many times in that first set.
I felt like I maybe used too many Joker's already for the second set but look I definitely profited at the end of it.
The last game wasn't real anymore but what a week. It's been for me I'm so happy and it was great start to the match like you said and I'm so happy right now. It's great.
Interviewer:
At the end of the match, you know when you know your opponent suffering mentally. What does that doe to you and then what about the last point where you're sitting there waiting is it. It is out.
Federer:
yeah no. I mean it's difficult but at the same time I've been there so many times where opponents you know been playing hurt sick or not feeling well same for me and you know when you're junior that can throw you off in the beginning of the career you're not sure are they just playing with you because you're young and they're just testing you I was Johnny I mean I knew it was gonna be something you know that's not right I mean the way he was moving was not well but at the same time you know I gotta keep making him work hard I gotta keep doing my things I know the crowd is a bit of a letdown so I can let that affect my game and I did well at the end so I'm just really pleased and I hope the course for John I hope it's nothing serious.
And what it mean to you after playing your first title here 17 years ago and now winning it today.
That's unbelievable what a sort of a stretch has been a play here in 99 the very first time and I'm back here in 2019 so yeah it's been I've seen the transformation to played some unbelievable matches at this event got in a wild card back in the day as well so I just told James Blake the term director and a friend of mine so happy I came here because it was really worth while the family out and you know you have so much such a big streatch means a lot to me.
